Animal news: Get ready for the Big Cat Nap
The first week in July sees the Big Cat Nap. It's organised by the Born Free Foundation, who have several Big Cat campaigns helping lions, jaguars and tigers.
The Big Cat Nap gives you the opportunity to literally, well, take a nap and get sponsored for it. Sit in the shade with a good book, enjoy a cup of tea just sitting down, take a cat nap, do some big cat face painting, organise an evening in with your favourite films & ask for a donation...
There's plenty you can do to help big cats by joining in the Big Cat Nap and there are fundraising ideas here.
Take a photo of your pet doing nothing and share it with the Born Free Foundation and your family and friends on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram using the #BigCatNap hashtag. Born Free will select their favourite one to use to promote next year’s Big Cat Nap!
The Born Free Foundation says you can make a donation by texting ZZZZ13 followed by the amount you would like to donate - £1, £5, up to a max of £10 to 70070. (Donations over £10 are not accepted via text). £7 could fund a tiger protection officer for a day, and £10 could feed a rescued cheetah cub for two days.
